The Team
Our captains are all experienced seafarers who have grown up by the water. They are fully licensed and have additional commercial certifications relevant to charter fishing and tourism. Each one of them is committed to ensuring you have the best day possible on the water. Depending on the length of charter they will discuss your needs and ideas and come up with a number of options to make the most of the opportunities.
Dante Vercuiel
Dante Vercuiel is a young and upcoming South African Captain, who from the early age of 7 has been actively fishing the waters off Cape Town. Dante has worked his way up through the ranks from deck hand to Captain, attending to both recreational and commercial fishing needs on the various boats he has fished on.
Dante has built up avast knowledge of all facets of deep-sea fishing over the years from bait fishing, jigging and spinning to chasing the notorious difficult and fussy billfish off Cape Town waters. He will be bringing a youthful enthusiasm to our team, along with wide knowledge gained on the commercial vessels off Cape Town fishing for Yellowfin tuna and Yellowtail.
Dante has the ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions ensuring we give his clients every possible chance of a successful charter.
Our boats
T & R is a 31’ Al Falasi catamaran boat powered by 2 x 250hp Suzuki engines. The catamaran styled craft are renowned for great seakeeping, speed and a large amount of deck space. The boat has a large shaded area and plenty of comfortable seating.
She is outfitted with a complete suite of Garmin electronics including a dual beam CHIRP fishfinder, bird finding radar, auto pilot, VHF and satellite phone. T & R has a fully enclosed toilet and several large, insulated fish boxes to keep your catch in optimum condition.
On board
You will find modern, quality fishing tackle and accessories. We use top of the range Shimano, Penn and Daiwa equipment and rest assured that all tackle is fully serviced and maintained. We supply casting, jigging and trolling gear (rods, reels, lures) but always welcome customers bringing their own tackle if they wish.
In addition to the tackle, we supply ice, cooler boxes, water and soft drinks and offer a fish cleaning service to our guests if needed.
Fujairah is the UAE’s seventh largest city and as it borders the Gulf of Oman it is a prime location for sportfishing.
Fish are caught all year round and with fishable weather of over 320 days per year, it is always a fun place to fish. Species that are caught include dorado (mahi-mahi), tuna (skipjack, longtail and yellowfin), sailfish, rainbow runner, barracuda and marlin.
Please note that we practice catch and release for all sharks and billfish but will gladly prepare other species that you catch for you to take home!
